6 MC Maksutov Cassegrain on EQ-5 mount

Another plus is that all telescopes come with a very stable EQ-5 mount which works very accurate and sensitive at the same time.

Another advantage is that the mount is equpipped with a lighted polarscope (the light is adjustable) - this scope helps to find the accurate adjustment at the celestial pole and is an indispensable aid for astrophotography! There is also the optional possibility to apply a dual-axis motor drive with a hand control. Equipped with this motor an automatic adjustment and long-term exposures are easily possible.

The telescope tubes come fully equipped with a 8x50 finderscope with adjustable lighting. This lighting offers a higher contrast and eases the finding of celestial objects a lot.

Short design and high sharpness

Maksutov Cassegrain telescopes main characteristics are their high sharpness and that they are short. The short design offers mobility and easy handling - what makes the MC 6 a winner for both beginners and pros. Due to its high aperture the 6” MC is suitable for all operational areas.

During deep-sky observations you will experience that it offers a contrast usually only offered by refractors.

The massive EQ-5 mount with a tripod (steel legs) carries the tube safely and gives firm stand for the whole system. The integrated, lighted polarscope offers the possibility to align the telescope accurately to the polar star.

In any case, we recommend you to use 2” wide angle eyepieces since the telescope can only show its full power if they are used. The tube has a 2” connector which is perfectly suitable for astrophotography.

A motor drive with dual-axis steering is optional available and transform the mount to an HEQ-5

The main operational areas of the MC 6” are deep-sky, planet, terrestrial and moon observations.

The big 8x50 finderscope is lighted and eases the finding of objects on the nightly sky a lot. The light intensity is individually adjustable. The finderscope is mounted in a metal mounting plate with a quick-release The 6 adjustment-screws make a fast and accurate adjustment possible.
